Our coffees are not formally kosher certified at the Bean Box level, but here's what you should know:
Plain, unflavored whole bean coffee is inherently kosher — and since all of our coffees contain zero additives or flavorings, they are generally considered kosher-friendly for everyday use. Additionally, some of our roaster partners do carry their own kosher certification. If you'd like to know whether a specific coffee comes from a certified kosher roaster, just reach out to us at delight@beanbox.com and we'll look into it for you!
A note on decaf: This is where it gets a little more nuanced. The decaffeination process can affect a coffee's kosher status depending on the method used — water-based decaffeination is generally considered kosher, while some solvent-based methods may not be. Since we aren't always able to confirm the exact decaffeination method used by each roaster partner, we'd recommend reaching out before ordering a decaf if you strictly observe kosher dietary laws.
For Passover: Decaffeinated coffee is only recommended for Passover if it bears a reliable kosher certification. When in doubt, our regular (caffeinated) whole bean coffees are the safer choice during Passover.
